Audio Visuals for Miami New World Symphony 2015.

In collaboration with New World Symphony Orchestra in Miami and Parsons School of Design and Mannes College in New York City, Udit Mahajan and I, serving as Art Directors, collected and curated a database which provided real-time visual accompaniment to the performance piece - Crumb's Idyll for the Misbegotten, 1986.

METHODOLOGY // PROCESS

Art Direction involved deciding moods and identifying overarching themes. Several user tests were done to find common threads in visuals that come to mind when listening to the piece. Discussions and visual research were done on themes of melancholia, ancient rituals, religions, nature and war.

The curation for the database included video footage from the following movies surrounding the themes discussed :



Protoype videos were created with several iterations on content and effects. The visuals were performed in real-time alongside the performance at New World Symphony Theatre, Miami.
